SPANKED IT!
Was lucky enough to attend the opening of Spank the Monkey on Tuesday night at the Baltic in Newcastle.
Artists included: Chiho Aoshima, Banksy, Dzine, Dr. Lakra, FAILE, Freaks Gallery, Shepard Fairey, Groovisions, Invader, Kozyndan, Barry Mcgee, Ryan Mcginness, Takashi Murakami, Miss Van, Neasden Control Centre, Os Gemeos, David Shrigley, Natasha Struchkova, Swoon, Aya Takano, Ed Templeton,Yasumasa Yonehara.
Great art space with some intereseting pieces. Disappointment was only one small Banksy pice, although a large outdoor piece is said to be going up in the centre of Newcastle in the next couple of weeks. It looks like the outside art pieces may steal the show, so get yourself a copy of the MAP and get yourself round the sites. Especially check Jesmond Metro Station.
